THE CHARACTER
Name: Ariana Kendra Zelda Alice Dumbledore(I picked named based on how Albus' name is.) Nicknames: Ari, Air, Mirror or Canon: Mirror Age: 17 Birthday: February 14, 1885 House/Year: NA/NA Taught by her brothers. Blood Status: Family: Aberforth,
Occupation: She lived at Hogwarts with Albus. Sexuality: Straight Marital Status: Married in her older age. Alliance: DA!
Appearance: Ariana has a delicate, yet slightly round face with high cheek bones. She's actually quite pretty with light blue eyes just as her father had and the same with her siblings. She's a healthy size and weight, with a small chest and hips looking generally petite but not overly small in size as she's about 5'2". Due to the beating from the young boys that she received, she has some scarring on her body and a nasty scar on her cheek right below her eye.
[I don't specify if she has red or blonde hair, but some assume blonde and others red. Whichever PB you like better.]
PB: Emma Rigby http://www.greatestjournal.com/users/puffed/23772.html or Shailene Woodley http://www.insanejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=madelene_ambers
Personality: From infancy to six years of age, Ariana was the most free-spirited and cheerful little girl a person would ever see. But on that sunny and warm day, those three Muggle boys attacked her after seeing her perform magic alone outside.
Now she is terribly sensitive to everything out of the ordinary - a loud noise, boys playing outside, idle thoughts of self-doubt and guilt over the attack, her over-protective family’s attempts to keep her safe, her captivity, criticism, or a large amount of magic in one particular area. Her thoughts of guilt, anger, frustration, and sadness have build up over the days and weeks to the point of madness. Her moods fluctuate from cheerful (which is rare), to sad, to angry and finally to numb. Her brothers were usually the ones most successful in calming her, but Aberforth did so much better. They were always there. Yet her mother was always the person she wanted to be, so any criticism or the like would only fan the fire of what foul and seemingly uncontrollable mood Ariana was in. Her anger is usually in huge bursts of magic - which are always destructive and tension-filled.
In her anger and madness, Ariana occasionally and without knowing hurts her family. She doesn’t mean too. She just explodes.
Once her rage subsides, Ariana remembers what she has done and withdraws in her room or all together. She would curl up in her closet or on her bed, where she would cry and rock to somehow calm herself. “How could they love me now? I hurt them. I didn’t mean to.” Ariana often wishes she could get rid of her magic and be a sweet little girl again. Maybe her magic also contained her anger. Self-blame ate her up with every outburst and every self-scorn, Ariana felt more and more flawed.
Her sweet and possibly her potential self (if she wasn’t attacked) usually comes forth with Aberforth is around. Ariana can be quite childlike when she is in that state of mind. Quiet, innocent, isolated - she experienced every difficulty with her family-imposed house arrest. She missed the sun, the air, the trees and flowers. But she did indeed fear being attacked again. Lacking in social skills and unique personality, Ariana was like a doll.
Strangers, even Gellert, frightened her. They weren’t apart of the normal routine. Ariana would run away and hide from strangers. She would hide from Albus when Gellert came around, but that fear went silent when Albus would spend time with her. Her own romantic life was non-existent. She knew nothing of romantic love and the only other boy she had met in her life was Gellert
Full History: Like any other witch in any other wizarding family, Ariana Dumbledore was bright, unusually cute, polite, and free-spirited. Ever since she knew she could do magic like her two brothers, she made them help her and teach her new things. Albus and Aberforth adored her because of her cheerfulness and aspirations, and she adored them as well. They were her idols in regards to magic as her mother, Kendra, was in womanhood. Since she wasn't allowed a wand, she tended to practice by herself with little spells that she could concentrate enough without the focusing aid of the wand. It was difficult at first, but she kept trying and grew more and more confident and efficient.
The December after she turned six, her joyous and innocent world was destroyed. Practicing in the woods nearby the Dumbledore home, Ariana was whirling here and there. She stopped and practiced her magic one her own as she loved to do. “Albus and Aberforth will be so surprised” Ariana thought to herself. By the time she turned six, her world was shattered. Ariana was outside in the woods practicing magic by herself as she always did, but it would be different on that day in December. Three Muggle boys were tromping through through woods in search for a rabbit to hunt. But when they saw Ariana transfiguring a ball of snow into a frozen, almost glass-like rose bloom, they found a better prey. They surrounded her and ordered her to do something else - to shatter the ice sculpture she had just created. But Ariana froze - unable to do so. When she couldn’t do what they asked, what they demanded, they started calling her hurtful names - like “freak” or “demon”.
Then they called her magic - “tricks”. Chanting “freak”, the three boys kept taunting and demanding. Ariana was so frightened, wanting to just do something magical so they would be quiet and leave alone, but they’re anger grew into violence. The three boys closed in and beat her with their fists and their feet. Three against one tiny little girl. After finally coming to their senses, the three looked down at the bloodied and broken Ariana. She was like a crushed doll. Then they ran in fear, leaving her there. She was found a hours later by her father Percival. She stared unseeing and not moving, fear and pain caged her, her father scooped her up and took her home. Kendra and Percival did the best the could do with her with home remedies but the damage had been done. Her body would heal, but her mind was like irreparable glass shards within the porcelain of her head. Mostly broken.
A few weeks would pass and then Ariana began acting strangely from her usual - with nightmares and uncharacteristic withdrawal. In a desperate attempt to seek revenge and/or justice for what was done to his little girl, Percival was able to gleam the the descriptions of the three boys from his daughter’s fractured mind and sought them out. He hexed them, tortured and nearly killed them, wanting to ruin them as much as they ruined his daughter. Ariana’s father told Kendra what he had done to seek justice and to silent those boys, but Percival ended up being arrested, charged, and convicted of the crimes. He was sentenced to life-term in Azkaban, that was where he went and remained until his death. His crimes gave his family the reputation of Muggle-haters and Kendra's constant keeping Ariana locked up didn't help. Although, during the time where she was upset it was her brothers that kept her from destroying the house. Kendra and the boys had to keep close tabs on her so she couldn't be taken away to St. Mungo's and caged there.
Her mother tried to teach her proper magic and to settle her when Aberforth wasn't home, but Ariana breaking things proved the most difficult. So, Kendra would often leave her daughter in the house’s dark and sparsely furnished basement. The furniture was protected by a impervious charm, but it didn’t always hold. Aberforth soothed Ariana to the point of emerging from her isolated-induced withdrawn mood when he convinced that that people would take her away from him if she didn’t stay in the basement. She was fearful of that above all else and decided to obey her brother and stay in the home's basement, she could always find a soothing with him around her.
Perhaps, just perhaps, it was Aberforth's closeness to her age as they seemed to act like twins some of the time. Ariana's behavior usually tried to copy her elder brothers but there was nothing she could do to win Albus over, he didn't look at her the same way anymore. Aberforth could settle her much faster without much shouting when everyone was frustrated with Ariana's outbursts. But when Aberforth left for school, Ariana relapsed to before Aberforth’s successful efforts in keeping her calm. Most of the year Ariana was home alone and wards had to be kept on the doors so she wouldn't break them if Kendra had company. Kendra was growing his daughter into a monster in the basement, she was leaving her young daughter at home for long periods of time. Kendra wasn't going to last long.
When Ariana hit puberty, her emotions spiked all over the place and her magic, already uncontrolled, became even more unpredictable. Her relationship with her mother became more and more of a minefield, as Kendra struggled to keep control over her uncontrollable daughter. The situation finally exploded when Ariana accidentally sucked all the air out of the room-mid argument, killing her mother.
At this point, Albus was forced to cut his research and travels short; to come home and become his sister's reluctant keeper. Ariana recognized him as a brother and liked him well enough, but never felt particularly close to him. And his new friend - Gellert Grindewald... Gellert terrified her. She mostly kept out of their way, when she was lucid enough to know to do so. The one occasion when she wasn't resulted in her near death.
She'd heard voices arguing, which was her normal cue to hide, but one of the voices was Aberforth's. She was safe with Aberforth. She ran into the room - and was hit with a mis-aimed curse, as the argument turned into an all-out brawl. It's sad to say, but the mis-aimed curse came from her own brother's wand. Ariana was unconscious for a long, long time from the curse that was used but eventually came to.
The three of them lived together and she lived to grow old, marry and help Albus with the school. Eventually leading to stopping the Second war because it was her loving ways that refused to give up on Tom.
Mirror Characters: Everything happened as it normally would with the exception of the Second War. It did not happen because Albus had Ariana's help in making the choice to find Tom and help him, accept him for who he was. She also lived to grow old.

Third Person: Ariana was wide awake at the crack of down, she grabbed one of her favourite dresses and put it on, slipping into a pair of black shoes and leaving her small hut. She began to skip in a frolicking motion, her arms swaying back and forth as she went down to the flat where he'd been staying.
But first, she needed to take a train to get out there and then a bus. Most people would have stopped someone so small from leaving but without those to take care of her, she was free to do what she wanted. Again, she was without parental supervision. On the way out to Godric's Hollow, she spent most of her time sleeping or drawing in her journal. By the time she reached Gellert's home, she found it to be almost early afternoon and she needed to hurry.
When she arrived, her hands on the door and she patted a tune on it lightly,"Gelllllllllllerttt!" She shouted, like a yowling cat outside of his door. Her hands moved and she started to pound on the door harder.
When he didn't answer promptly, she went to the closest window and tapped the glass,".Gelllllertt."
Nothing.
Eventually, she became tired of waiting. Ariana walked over towards the door, slowly twisted the knob and when she realized it was opened she made a weird face. She shouldn't have been inside but she was too much of a snoop not to go inside. Quietly, she walked forward and continued her pace until she was inside,"...G..Gellert? It's Ariana......" She frowned.
Was he avoiding her? Playing some cruel joke? Making fun of her for not knowing he wasn't home? She'd never know.
Instead of waiting, she turned around in disappointment and decided to leave.
